Why choose an RMT?
Registered Massage Therapists aka RMT’s are individuals who are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and are bound to act in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Massage Therapy Act. An RMT undergoes 2-3 years of full time training, extensive testing, on-going CEU monitoring and inspections.
What to expect:
Health History: Before your treatment, you will be forwarded a link to complete a health history form. If you prefer to complete a paper copy then this will be completed upon arrival at your treatment, therefore, please arrive a few minutes earlier. All information provided is confidential.
Assessment: A detailed discussion about your health history will guide the therapist to some hands on orthopaedic tests which will help to determine the condition and treatment options.
Treatment Plan: After considering the health history and assessment, a suggested plan for treatment will be discussed and agreed upon before the treatment begins.
Treatment: The massage will be done using the hands and forearms, directly on the skin or over the clothes. Your level of comfort will be monitored throughout and the treatment will be amended accordingly. Please note you can request the treatment to be stopped at any time. Times for treatment can vary and this will depend on the issue being dealt with, the treatment plan and with you.
Homecare: You will be given exercises and hydrotherapy advice to help work towards your goals and treatment plan.
Billing: Because RMT’s are regulated, your receipt will contain a registration number which will allow you to submit to your extended health benefits provider, if applicable.
Cancellation Policy: Please note that we require 24 hours notice before your scheduled appointment time if you need to cancel an appointment. If this does not occur, you may be charged for your missed appointment.
