RYT200, member of Yoga Alliance
I have a long history of working in the field of public service. After graduating from Fleming College with a Social Service Worker Diploma, I began working for the PVNNCS School Board as an Educational Assistant in Special Education. I truly loved this job but as our family grew, I decided to follow my heart and became a stay-at-home parent, raising four children while running a home daycare.
After several years, as my children grew, I felt a strong desire to return to school and make a career change. I enrolled part-time at Fleming and became a Certified Esthetician in 2008.
For a few years I worked as a mobile esthetician, treating clients in their homes. This was a wonderful experience but after a while I realized that I needed a space of my own, where I could see more clients in a day and save some wear and tear on my body. In 2013 I found that space in Bridgenorth, growing my clientele and continuing my training to add more services (Reflexology, FAZR, Reiki, etc.) to fulfill clients’ needs.
Always keen to further my education and seeing a need for the expansion of relaxation techniques and body-mind awareness, I enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training program in 2018. This was an intense year of studying and working, in which I had the generous support of family, friends and clients.
In 2019, it became apparent that it was time for another change. Sue and I moved from Bridgenorth to our current space on Chemong Rd., where we are able to provide a variety of health and wellness services. I am so excited to have the ability to teach yoga in this space, while still offering esthetics and reflexology services!
My main goal is to help clients feel well and live well. That is what I love to do and what I look forward to doing for many more years!
Registered Massage Therapist, Bowen Practitioner
After 2 children and quite a diverse an interesting mix of careers I had quite a direction change in 2007. I had been dealing with many back and pelvic issues from long distance running and ridiculous work outs. I found The Bowen Technique. Bowen gave me almost instant relief and I knew I had to learn the fabulous tools that not only sorted out my pain but left me feeling calm and rejuvenated. I trained with the European College Of Bowen Studies whilst in the UK and also studied Reiki completing level 1 and 2.
In 2009 we moved to Canada and I went back to school. Massage Therapy is not regulated in the UK and so Fleming College and the Advanced Massage Therapy program is where I spent 3 fully packed years. Whilst at school, new country, new house, new life, 2 kids and a very supportive husband, I started my Bowen business again in Bridgenorth. In 2012, I graduated from Fleming with an advanced diploma and a faculty award for excellence. In November 2013, I took further advanced training with Bowen on line and now also teach the wonderful modality in Ontario. I have also taken further training in Reiki, Touch for Health and I am a certified Meditation teacher. On-going education will always be a part of my life, there is so much to learn!
My holistic background has added strong elements to my massage practice enabling me to look from different angles in order to help resolve health issues. I have a client centred approach and my goals are to seek the correct care for my clients in order to achieve their health care goals. Our Inspired Health and Wellness Space is something I have wanted to create for many years. We are working to be able to equip those around us with a tool box of strategies to make life fabulous.
